Overview

Chye Vîvû was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1460, by Brêj Fyêmeg̈m. The establishment of Chye Vîvû was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Brêj Fyêmeg̈m electing to pay people to resettle in Chye Vîvû.

Chye Vîvû was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Chye Vîvû is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Chye Vîvû is is constructed arround a series of crampt packed earth mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town is protected by a well-crafted cobblestone fence tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. The town's frontieer-style defences have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Chye Vîvû has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Chye Vîvû’s streets. In spite of this, quite a few people can be seen reading and the town has an abundance of libraries. It’s quite clear the community values education.

Cultural Notes

Chye Vîvû's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

In Chye Vîvû most nights are accompanied by colorful ribbons of light in the sky.

The Hungry Flesh near Chye Vîvû are known to be quite timid.

Chye Vîvû's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves ritual combat to channel Transmutation energies of tier 2 via divine sermons.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Chye Vîvû was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Chye Vîvû lost 131 people, 229 livestock, and 50 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 213, when members of Chye Vîvû's militia enacted an operation to fortify a particular ruin. The operation was complicated by blistering heat, such that many succumbed to heatstroke. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the ruin, which ended in defeat for Chye Vîvû's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Chye Vîvû's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
